Introduced in the 1990’s as a metal body follow-up to the wildly popular Lamy Safari, the Lamy AL-Star was also designed by Wolfgang Fabian, creator of the Safari. Still light in the hand, but with added heft and durability thanks to machine-crafted aluminum body, the Lamy AL-Star will hit a sweet spot among many users as the perfect everyday steel nib fountain pen.
Along with the Safari, the AL-Star embodies Lamy’s Bauhaus-inspired philosophy of “form follows function.” Lamy is known for its clean, modernist approach to design, and the AL-Star reflects this perfectly.
A cartridge-converter pen, the Lamy AL-Star can fill using convenient Lamy brand ink cartridges for a no-fuss, no-muss writing experience. When fitted with a Lamy brand converter, it can also fill using any bottled fountain pen ink.
