Visconti 18k nibs are sold as complete nib units with a feed and section. Most recent Visconti fountain pens allow you to easily swap nib units at home by simply unscrewing one nib unit and replacing it with another.
Each Visconti pen or nib unit you purchase from us can receive our free nib tuning services, along with our noted nib customizations – see below for suggestions on which nibs are best for which customizations.

Fine
Tipping Size: .4 mm
Description: Provides a consistent fine line – excellent for smooth everyday writing and note-taking.
Recommended Customizations: The finest nib size we can recommend for regrind customizations such as Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique, but the effects will be very subtle, with just a hint of line-width variation – Medium, Broad, and stock Stub nibs will be a better choice for most users.
Medium
Tipping Size: .5 mm
Description: Provides a consistent medium line with a very smooth writing experience.
Recommended Customizations: An excellent choice for regrind customizations such as Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique – will provide significant line-width variation while still being suitable for everyday writing.
Broad
Tipping Size: .8 mm
Description: Provides a consistent broad line with an extremely smooth writing experience.
Recommended Customizations: The rounded nib tip makes this the best Visconti nib for our Architects Point customization. Also an excellent choice for regrind customizations such as Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique.
Stub
Tipping Size: 1.1 mm
Description: This stock Stub nib does not provide much line-width variation in its unmodified form, but can serve as an excellent starting point for our nib customizations.
Recommended Customizations: An excellent choice for regrind customizations such as Cursive Italic, Formal Italic, and Left Oblique but choose the more rounded Broad nib for best results withour Architects Point customization.
