Waterman’s #218 Sterling Silver Barrel

$7,250.00

In stock

There are only a few known examples similar to this Waterman’s #218, Sterling Silver barrel cover, eyedropper filled fountain pen with the original #8 semi-flexible fine nib. The barrel overlay rose motif is beautifully hand engraved and is stamped WATERMAN’S IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN on one end and STERLING on the other. We do not recommend adding nib customization to this unique vintage nib.

Description

The indicia panel is professionally inscribed with the initials, J.J.D. This pen is most likely from the mid to late 1920’s as the nib imprint changed around 1925 to Reg. US. Pat. Off. design. The cap has been replaced with an appropriate hard rubber model and has the correct German Silver pocket clip. This large pen measures 5 3/4” long capped and is in very good condition. This exceedingly rare #8 size Waterman’s fountain pen is from the John Mottishaw collection.
