To get the most from our nib customizations, however, it is really the Broad and stock Stub nibs that provide the best starting points for our nib specialists. The Broad nib is an excellent choice for regrind customizations such as Cursive Italic and Left Oblique, and with its rounded tip is also the best choice for our Architects Point customization.

The Visconti stock Stub nib, with its 1.3 mm tipping size, provides an even better starting point for Stub, Italic, and Oblique customizations. Experimentation with materials has long been central to the Homo Sapiens collection, beginning with Visconti’s use of volcanic lava. The Carbon series extends this tradition through an unexpected source of inspiration: the manufacturing techniques employed in Italy’s most prestigious supercars.

Adapted for use in fine writing instruments, forged carbon is a composite of carbon fiber fragments and resin that produces a lightweight, durable structure with a distinctive, naturally irregular pattern. Its varied surface gives each pen a character of its own, reflecting the material’s origins in high-performance engineering while bringing a contemporary aesthetic to the art of fountain pen making.

For the Carbon Rose, the material takes on a new character through the incorporation of pink-anodized aluminum alloy leaf within the carbon composite. Delicate rose-colored veins follow the contours of the dark fibers, creating a subtle interplay of color and light.
