Description
This early 1920’s full-size Sheaffer’s Lifetime pre-white dot fountain pen was made in the early days of the company, before the white dot was included to indicate the lifetime guarantee. But the nib says LIFETIME reassuring early 1920’s customers that this was a quality pen.
The pre-fin feed is another indication of how early this pen was manufactured in the Fort Madison, Iowa plant. Note the close-up photo of the imprint which shows the first patent date, when W. A. Sheaffer secured the lever-filler patent for the first time. We would list this pen as Excellent + except for a secure hairline crack in the barrel lip, barely visible in the capped pen photograph. This historically significant 100+ year old Sheaffer’s fountain pen is from the Mottishaw Collection.
