Description
Unlike the Sheaffer’s 3-25 which cost $3 and was guaranteed for 25 years, this was the 5-30 model which cost $5, a lot of money at the time, and was guaranteed for 30 years, which would be the 1960’s and well into the ballpoint pen era.
This combo was preferred by people who wanted the convenience of both writing implements and had enough money in the depth of the depression, after the banks had failed. This streamline designed combo was manufactured in Fort Madison, Iowa around 1933.
Pen Pencil combinations were not uncommon in the 1930’s but this Sheaffer’s model was of the highest quality and now, in this condition is highly collectible.
