The Sailor Iriomote Cat F3 celebrates one of Japan’s rarest native animals, the critically endangered Iriomote cat, a wild feline found exclusively on subtropical Iriomote Island in Okinawa. With fewer than 100 individuals remaining in the wild, the species is the focus of ongoing conservation efforts, making this distinctive fountain pen a tribute to both the animal and its fragile natural habitat.

The pen is crafted from a rich, chocolate-brown resin, with subtle dark spotting on the cap inspired by the Iriomote cat’s natural camouflage. The barrel features illustrations on opposite sides, offering two charming views of the animal.

One depicts an Iriomote cat facing forward, its wide, inquisitive eyes framed by characteristic striped markings. Turn the pen around, and a second illustration reveals a mother cat viewed from behind, with a small kitten peeking out from behind her back. The artwork combines warm tawny and tan tones with bold, leopard-like spots, bringing a playful quality to the pen’s otherwise understated appearance.

Gold-plated trim provides an elegant complement to the earthy resin, while the gold-plated Sailor F3 stainless steel nib, hand-finished by Sailor artisans, reflects the company’s attention to writing performance and craftsmanship. The Iriomote Cat F3 also supports an important conservation initiative. A portion of the proceeds from every pen sold will be donated directly to the World Natural Heritage Okinawa Conservation Consortium, helping fund species conservation and environmental protection in Okinawa.
