Description
Sailor Cartridge Inks are an excellent choice for filling your Sailor brand cartridge-converter fountain pen. We will be adding the full range of Sailor bottled and cartridge inks to our inventory over the coming weeks. In the meantime, if there is an you are looking for that is not yet listed here, please let us know at info@pacificpenworks.com and we’ll be happy to special order it for you.
Sailor inks are made available in two different formulations, dye-based and pigment:
- Dye-Based Inks: We are starting with the Sailor offerings in Black, Blue, and Blue-Black. Dye-based inks are formulated from dyes dissolved in water and are considered the safest, wettest, and easiest flowing among fountain pen inks. They tend to be more washable and easier to clean up after as well.
- Pigment Inks: Available from Sailor in Kiwaguro Black, Seiboku Blue-Black, and Souboku Deep Blue. Unlike dye-based inks, the color in pigment inks is derived from microscopic particles suspended in a liquid, rather than dissolved dyes. This results in increased water resistance and permanence, but also means these inks require more regular cleaning of your fountain pen. As with any pigment ink, we would advise caution if using in a clear or semi-transparent demonstrator pen or in any vintage pen.
