The 1911 Large Transparent Silver is a cartridge-converter pen. It is supplied with a reusable ink converter that allows it to fill utilizing bottled fountain pen ink. It can also use handy Sailor ink cartridges, now available in a wide array of different colors.
As with any demonstrator pen, we recommend regular cleaning with the Sailor 1911 Large Transparent Silver. While it won’t affect writing performance in any way, demonstrator pens in general tend to accumulate small ink spots on the interior of the pen. Using conventionally formulated inks, such as Sailor’s own dye-based inks, are a very wise choice when using any demonstrator pen.
