The Sailor 1911 Large Realo 18k GT takes Sailor’s approach to piston-fill fountain pens in an entirely new direction. Most notably, the new detachable barrel easily unscrews from the nib section, and can be swapped into the nib sections from your existing Sailor 1911 Large and Pro Gear pens.
Do you have an existing 1911 Large or Pro Gear with a 21k nib that has received one of our nib customizations? You can now swap that nib section into the new Realo barrel for the full piston-fill experience!
One thing that isn’t changing is the quality of Sailor nibs and the variety of tipping sizes available. Finer nibs from Extra Fine through Medium are highly suitable for everyday note-taking. Broader nibs, on the other hand, make excellent starting points for customizations such as Stub or Cursive Italic. Choose the unique Zoom nib for best results with our Architects Point customization.
Our complimentary nib tuning tests each pen and adjusts the ink flow and optimum pressure to your own personal specifications. We are an authorized Sailor retailer.
The Sailor 1911 Large Realo 18k GT can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink – for best results, we strongly recommend using inks produced by fountain pen manufacturers, including the inks we offer from Pelikan, Pilot, Platinum, and, of course, Sailor itself.
