Description
Though Pelikan is best known for the piston-fill fountain pens in its historic Souverän series, the Pelikan International Standard Ink Converter is a highly popular accessory for cartridge-converter pens. Any bottled fountain pen ink can be used, and the converter is also a handy tool for flushing your fountain pen with water when cleaning.
A wide variety of cartridge-converter fountain pens use these International converters – among the brands we carry, both Eboya and Visconti, in their cartridge-converter pens, utilize these converters. Edison, Montegrappa, and S.T. Dupont are among other well-known brands which are also compatible.
Filling your fountain pen with a converter is a straightforward process. Simply insert the converter into the pen just as you would a standard ink cartridge. Once it’s securely in place, immerse the nib—and a portion of the grip section—into your ink bottle. Turn the converter’s knob to draw ink into the reservoir, and you’re ready to write.
Ink converters were first introduced in the 1970’s as fountain pens with disposable ink cartridges grew in popularity. For many users, the cartridge-converter pens offer the best of both worlds – the ability to use disposable ink cartridges when necessary, but the option to use any bottled fountain pen ink when time and circumstances permit.
