This Marlen MCCVS 1997 fountain pen honors a pre-Latin theater figure, MACCVS, who humorously embodies the eccentric fool, joker, and glutton. This was all carried out in the extinct Indo European Oscan language, spoken before the 1st century AD in central Italy.
Marlen is an Italian pen company founded in Naples in 1982 by Mario and Antonio Esposito, with the name derived from the combination of their names. From its beginnings, Marlen established itself as a maker of high-quality writing instruments that blend traditional craftsmanship with bold, artistic design.
This Marlen MCCVS 1997 is in Near Mint condition in its original outer box  and pristine inner box, and has all documentation and pamphlets as well as a still-sealed bottle of Marlin ink. This collectible pen is from the John Mottishaw collection.
