The salmon hard rubber cap and barrel threads on this Marlen Henri Matisse Limited Edition fountain pen are a sharp contrast with the hard rubber barrel and gripping section. Produced by Marlen pen company in 1996 in Italy, this pen is numbered on the barrel 0219/1958 and is provided with a nib in Medium.
Description
The playful sterling silver cap band captures the attitude of the mature Matisse who in his later years produced fun and simple shapes cut out from paper.
All the trim pieces are sterling silver which have been left unpolished so that you can see the natural patina on this 29 year old pen. The stamp on the top of the clip identifies the material with the number 925, the silver content in sterling.
This pen comes in its original outer box and excellent inner box. This Marlen H Matisse LE fountain pen is from the Mottishaw collection.
