Description
The Eboya Kyouka Medium Tanshin Red is a superb fountain pen, and the cylindrical Kyouka is one of the most unique and recognizable models created by Eboya.
In its Medium size, this is a writing instrument that can suit most any user. Those who favor larger and over-sized pens might also be attracted to the Large size, while the Small will be best suited to those who prefer smaller writing instruments.
Fountain pen manufacturer Eboya is the artisanal sister company of Nikko Ebonite, long the supplier of natural hard rubber ebonite to the major Japanese fountain pen companies. The ebonite used in Eboya fountain pens is traditionally sourced from the Asian rubber gum tree.
Ebonite is one of the classic materials used for high end fountain pens. Many vintage pens crafted from hard rubber ebonite are still in daily use a hundred years and more after their initial production. Eboya’s unique approach to the design and crafting of ebonite gives these pens their distinctive and beautiful appearance.
The high quality of Eboya fountain pens isn’t limited to the ebonite bodies. Eboya has chosen German-manufacturer Bock, supplier of nibs to most of the leading European fountain pen manufacturers, to produce the 14k solid gold nibs for Eboya fountain pens.
Choose broader nibs for the best results with customizations such as Architects Point, Cursive Italic, or Stub. Finer nibs, meanwhile, will generally be the preference if you’d like a modification for added Flex.
The Kyouka is a cartridge-converter pen. It can use international standard cartridges in either the large or small size, as well as international standard converters.
