This Sheaffer’s 5-30 Jade fountain pen is restored and in Excellent condition and it sports a fantastic Extra Fine nib. Notice the remains of the price sticker on the end of the barrel, which has lasted since 1928. This is an indication of the small amount of wear this pen has seen in 97 years. The craftsmanship employed to create the nib on this pen is also impressive.

Description

This Sheaffer’s 5-30 Jade fountain pen shows little of the darkening so common in celluloid pen from the 1920’s and 30’s. Celluloid pens were just coming into their own, and Sheaffer got it right.

The rolled gold trim in impeccable except for the common brassing on the side of the clip ball. Long thin pens were favored by those who liked fine points and delicate marks. This is one.

A fresh bladder has been installed here and little else was necessary to refurbish this beauty. It comes from the personal collection of PacificPenWorks nib specialist John Mottishaw.
