When pen collecting was heating up in the 1990’s people discovered the Parker Sr. Duofold models, including the Big Red which were not particularly scarce. What was scarce was the 1920’s Mandarin Duofold as it was produced in much smaller numbers and prone to breakage. It became one of the hottest pens to find.
It sold out quickly. Based on the large Centennial model this Parker Duofold Centennial Mandarin Yellow Limited Edition uses a converter or cartridges (provided unused in the original presentation box. The advanced production techniques of the 90’s mean that this pen does not suffer from the fragility of the 1020’s original.
It has all the original papers as well as the inner and outer boxes. It is in Mint condition so clearly qualifies as collectible. This one is #9213 and is from the Mottishaw collection.
