Introduced in 1941, the Parker 51 marked a striking departure from traditional fountain pen design. Its streamlined silhouette reflected the influence of aviation design, while its hooded nib gave it an unmistakably modern appearance.

Promoted as the “world’s most wanted pen,” the Parker 51 became one of the defining writing instruments of the mid-twentieth century. Its combination of restrained styling and dependable performance sustained its appeal among writers and collectors.

This modern interpretation of the original design is in every way worthy of the Parker tradition of innovation, while the ease of use of the cartridge-converter filling system makes this an attractive first pen for users new to the world of quality of fountain pens. Each pen is carefully hand-manufactured at the Parker facility in Saint-Herblain, near Nantes.

Our complimentary nib tuning tests each pen and adjusts the ink flow and optimum pressure to your own personal specifications. The Fine nib can be modified to customizations such as Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique. Those preferring a finer line than the Parker Fine can choose our regrinds to Extra Fine or Needlepoint.

The Parker 51 Deluxe Plum Gold is a cartridge-converter pen. It comes supplied with a proprietary Parker ink converter, which allows it to fill using any bottled fountain pen ink. It can also use convenient Parker brand ink cartridges, which provide a high capacity equal to that of many piston-fill pens.
