Visconti 14k Ruthenium Nib Units fit contemporary Visconti fountain pen models such as the Homo Sapiens, Medici, and Divina. They make excellent starting points for our nib customizations, and can also be provided with the modification for added Flex. Our free nib tuning services ensure a quality writing experience with these hand-crafted writing points, produced in-house at the Visconti workshop in Florence.
Description
Visconti 14k Ruthenium Nib Units (also known as 14k Black Nib Units when they were initially introduced) are made available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, and a stock Stub. The broader nib sizes provide a terrific basis for our regrind customizations such as Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique. The 1.3 mm stock Stub nib, meanwhile, is an excellent choice for our well-known Architects Point customization.
As 14k nibs, they can also be provided with our modification for added Flex. 18k nibs, on the other hand, are not suitable for the Flex modification.
Whether you choose to have your nib customized by us not, our free nib tuning services help ensure that you get the most out of your Visconti nib unit.
These Visconti nibs are provided as a complete nib unit, and theoretically should be easily installable at home. However, Visconti has changed many aspects of its nib production over the years, and not all of its pens will allow easy swapping of nib units.
If the nib unit in your current Visconti fountain pen easily screws out of the pen barrel, then these replacement nib units should easily screw in as well. But if your current nib unit does not easily unscrew, or if your replacement nib unit does not easily screw in, do not try to force the nib unit – significant damage to your pen and/or nib unit can result.
When you purchase a Visconti nib unit from us, we can install the nib unit in your pen for you – a small processing fee and the cost of return postage will be the only additional charge. Contact us at service@pacificpenworks.com if you will be requiring this installation service.
