Description
This rare Andy Warhol Recife Mickey Mouse Fountain Pen and Rollerball Set features the artist’s signature engraved on the sterling silver cap bands. Created in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and French penmaker Récife, the set pays tribute to Warhol’s iconic pop art style.
The fountain pen is individually numbered 3408 of 7500, with the initials “AWM” engraved above the number on the sterling silver barrel. Both pens are in mint, unused condition—the rollerball still retains its original protective cap over the tip.
Produced in France in the early 1990s, this set is part of a collectible Warhol series that also includes designs inspired by Marilyn Monroe and the Mona Lisa, subjects Warhol famously reimagined in his groundbreaking 1964 silkscreen prints. The series is known for its bright, playful colors and bold graphic aesthetic.
The set is housed in its original presentation box, complete with Récife documentation and tied with a ribbon. Please note that the sterling silver elements show some natural tarnish, typical of the material.
This Mickey Mouse edition is particularly scarce and highly sought-after, often considered the most difficult to find in the series.
