Description
The Platinum 3776 Century Urushi Kaga Maki-e Poppy fountain pen is a versatile writing instrument with a beautifully realized traditional motif. Kaga Maki-e technique involves the use of gold powder and silver powders carefully added to wet urushi lacquer. Precise placement and polishing can create stunningly detailed motifs, as seen on this pen.
In Japanese art and culture, the poppy often symbolizes beauty, rest, and the transitory nature of life, echoing themes of impermanence central to Japanese aesthetics. Its delicate yet vivid blossoms convey both peaceful repose and a subtle reminder of transience and transformation.
The 3776 Century Urushi Maki-e employs a cartridge-converter filling system – the pen can use convenient disposable Platinum brand ink cartridges, and can also be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink by using the provided reusable converter.
Our free nib tuning sees to it that your pen is writing properly and tuned to the specifications you provide. Our optional nib customizations can add uniqueness and calligraphic styling to the writing you produce on the page.
Each pen ships in a special presentation box which includes instructions, the converter, and a starter ink cartridge. PacificPenWorks is an authorized retailer of Platinum products.
