Description
The Penlux Delgado Gladius Blue Grotto Fude is an exceptionally beautiful piston-fill fountain pen with an even more impressive nib. Yukio Nagahara, the son of pioneering nib crafter Nobuyoshi Nagahara, carries on the family tradition of producing unique specialty nibs which provide a very special writing experience on the page.
Fude means “brush” in Japanese, and the Fude nib is meant to emulate the kind of thick strokes achieved using a brush pen. It can also provide line-width variation depending on the angle at which it is held. Using the Fude in an upside down position, meanwhile, can provide a finer line more appropriate to everyday note-taking and more conventional writing.
Each Fude nib provided on the Gladius Blue Grotto is personally crafted by Yukio Nagahara, utilizing a German-produced steel nib as the starting point. The feed and section of the pen are specially adjusted to allow for the ink flow necessary for the Fude nib – to preserve the uniqueness of this writing instrument, we do not offer any tuning or customization services on the Gladius Blue Grotto. This is very much an instance in which your writing characteristics will need to adjust to the needs of the pen, rather than the other way around.
The Gladius Blue Grotto is a piston-fill pen. It can fill using any bottled fountain pen ink, including those produced by companies including Pelikanm, Platinum, and Sailor.
The chance to own a true Nagahara nib is not to be missed – and this beautiful piston-fill fountain pen provides the perfect setting for this exceptional nib. Each pen includes a limited edition certificate.
