$550.00

In Stock

This full-size Conklin Endura Senior Black and Bronze Celluloid fountain pen, made in the late 1920’s, marks the beginning of the celluloid period, leaving behind the use of hard rubber for the barrels and caps of Conklin fountain pens. It is in Excellent condition and sports an immaculate Fine Endura nib.

Our free nib tuning tests for optimal writing performance and adjusts angle, ink flow, and pressure to your own personal specifications – but we can also leave the pen as is for collectors who do not wish to have it re-inked. We do not recommend any customizations on this special vintage nib.

Description

This Conklin Endura Senior Black and Bronze fountain pen comes with a beautiful correct smooth Endura Fine nib with the signature crescent shaped vent hole. The gold cap band and spring loaded pocket clip are flawless. Only the weak barrel imprint separates this pen from the Near Mint category.

This late 1920’s Conklin Endura Sr. measures 5.2” with the cap on and weighs 22g. It fits nicely in any size hand without the need to post the cap on the back of the barrel. Inside is a fresh properly sized rubber bladder which holds a copious amount of ink, enough to write page after page.

Although the hard rubber era for the body of these pens ended, the use of a hard rubber feed persisted because they were easy to adjust and had very good hydrophilic properties.  This Conklin pen is from the Mottishaw collection.
