Description
This Ancora Paua Abalone Raden Limited Edition fountain pen, handcrafted in Italy, is one of only 888 pieces produced worldwide—this particular pen is number 50. The radiant barrel, inlaid with Paua shell—also known as raden or mother of pearl—transforms this writing instrument into a true work of artisanal mastery.
A fusion of refined Italian design, meticulous craftsmanship, and exceptional materials, the pen features a rich red ebonite body and cap, complemented by sterling silver (925) vermeil bands and a sculpted dragon pocket clip. The dragon’s head is adorned with two cut emerald eyes, adding a striking detail to an already distinctive piece.
At its heart is an 18k gold Broad nib—ideal for customization—paired with an in-house crafted ebonite feed, both produced entirely by Ancora. The pen fills via a high-capacity pump mechanism, holding over 2ml of ink—twice the volume of most contemporary fountain pens.
This example comes complete with its original outer packaging, pristine inner presentation box, and full Ancora documentation. It remains in Mint condition and comes from the personal collection of Pacific Pen Works nib specialist John Mottishaw.
