Unlike the Black trim and Rhodium trim Vanishing Points, the Gold trim Vanishing Point nib is only produced in Fine, Medium, and Broad. Besides these three choices, we are also offering the Rhodium-plated 18k Vanishing Point nibs in Extra Fine and stock Stub as additional alternatives. As only the very tip of the nib is visible while writing, mixing pen trim and nib plating in this manner is not the faux pas it usually is in the fountain pen world, and some even like the subtle two-tone effect.

Swapping nibs is remarkably simple. Pilot offers separate Vanishing Point nib units, sold individually, allowing you to experiment with different nib styles and custom grinds without needing a second pen. These interchangeable units are a perfect match for our specialty nib work.
