Moore Fingertip Lustre Black
In Stock
The Moore Fingertip fountain pen was produced from 1946 to 1950, a short run for this unique tip design. The 14kt smooth fine gold nib on this Moore Fingertip Lustre Black is set on to and entirely covers the feed, and sports two vent holes as well as having an upswept tip.
Description
The bullet shaped stainless steel gripping section and enclosed nib was an answer to the successful Parker 51 pen, a pen shape that had a major influence on pen design of the post war era. This pen was produced in extremely small numbers by comparison with the Parker and is, for that reason, scarce.
The cap and body of this Moore Fingertip Lustre Black pen was made of moulded resin and the pen offered a lifetime warranty. The over-the-top clip fits the pen deep in the pocket and satisfied military dress code and at just under 5” in length it did fit.
This pen is fully restored and is in very good condition, showing minor wear and plate loss typical of its age and careful use. It is from the personal collection of John Mottishaw.
